Mihret Gerezgiher, 25, from Ethiopia’s Tigray region, is a trained construction engineer and teacher who volunteers with UNHCR and partners in Sudan’s Tunaydbah camp.

Violent clashes in the Tigray region of Ethiopia have caused a humanitarian emergency. Fearing for their lives and the safety of their families, thousands of children, women and men have been forced to flee into Sudan. More than 53,000 refugees have already arrived in Sudan exhausted and scared and are currently being registered in transit centers near the border.
